Goodness Foundation’s Anniversary time

  • TGIF and my facebook newsfeed are alive with overflowing goodness. There are pictures of pretty women with puppy face filters, but that is not what I am referring to. Supposedly, it is the anniversary of the Goodness Foundation.

To those of you who have no idea what that means, the Goodness Foundation is an organization managed by some members of our school alumni. With a “vision to reach out and assist the under privileged people, communities and societies”, the foundation has achieved that and much more, in the since its inception.

One of the things that is inspiring about the foundation is that they believe in education.

“Why education?” the founder and chairman Paul Raja – class of 2006 – says,  “Why educationists (people ask us)? We believe that education is the backbone- the key need – for development”.

About 22 kids from Santhosha Vidhyala are sponsored by the Goodness Foundation. Outside of school close to 130 children are being sponsored by the foundation.

Over the past year, several events have been conducted for the children and snippets and pictures from those events have appeared on facebook and other social media. There was a free medical camp for the city children. Then, there was a sports meet for slum children in the city as well.

Paul Hudson, the Managing Director mentions that the foundation was born out of a discussion between a group of friends.

“Now we support over 150 children”, Jennifer, one of the Directors mentions.
